Anna is 6 months old

Here is a look at Anna at 6 months old.
She loves:
her sister, Katie
smiling and people smiling at her
singing and people singing to her
wiggling and moving constantly (especially during a diaper change of course)
dance parties with mommy and Katie
feeling her 2 teeth with her tongue

She is eating solid foods now and of course Katie has been very excited to feed her. She actually does a really good job. Which is helpful when I need to make dinner.

She is sitting up. We had to put the bouncer away because she thought it was fun to lean off the side. She pulled herself up to play with the toys that you kick with your feet.

This one is to show how long she is. She prefers to be sitting or standing. She will lay down for a little bit, but sees no point in laying on the floor. She actually almost sat up the other day from laying down.

Her favorite toy. The remote.

The Girls

Here are a few fun things we have been doing. Katie loves her new sister. One day she had pulled her stool out right in front of the swing so she could play with her. She is always wiping up her "spills" and giving her toys. It's so cute.

Kimball bought her an umbrella one day. She still tells everyone she has an umbrella. So far, it hasn't rained, but when it does she will be ready with her rainboots and umbrella and singing in the rain.

My sister in law made the girls matching dresses. They are so cute.

Katie's Birthday

We were in Idaho for Katie's 3rd birthday. We had an Easter birthday party with the cousins. We started out playing a game where they would find an egg with a number on it and then match it to one of the cards on the table that had a song on it. Next we decorated Easter eggs. The garbage bag apron began many years ago when we would dye Easter eggs at my grandma's house. Meanwhile the dads are hiding Easter eggs outside. It was a beautiful day.

Then dinner and of course cake and ice cream and presents. Katie got to help me make her cake that morning. She was so excited. We dyed the batter different colors and then dropped spoonfuls into the pan. The we put jelly beans and little Tinkerbells on top. She mentioned one time that she wanted a green Tinkerbell cake. Everytime I would ask her what she wanted for her birthday she would say cake, candles, and balloons. So she got her wish and she still talks about it to this day.

It was great to see everyone and play with cousins.

Idaho Trip

We went to Idaho to visit my family in April. It was so fun. Katie overcame her fear of the trampoline. Unfortunately it rained most of the time. We also got out my bike that I had when I turned 3. She is just a little short still.

Katie also has a fear of slides/heights, but her cousin Halle (who also used to be afraid of slides) was so good to help her. Katie was so proud of herself when she climbed up and went down all by herself.

My brother graduated with his Masters in Civil Engineering. Yay! We let him practice feeding and holding Anna since they were expecting twins. He did a great job. We didn't make him change her poopy diaper. He said he would just figure that one out later.

It's so exciting that our kids can know their great grandparents.

This is my grandma's 90th birthday celebration! The 4 generations and all the great grandkids.

Big Sister

Katie has really taken on the role as big sister. She helps me all the time. I saw her go get a burp cloth and wipe Anna's bubbles off her mouth. It was so cute. Katie tells me all the time that she is going to school. She even packs one of her purses. We had "school" one day while I was feeding Anna. She said she wanted me to be the teacher. (That's not too hard to pretend.) We sang some songs and then she drew on one of her notepads then we read a story. Here are some other things she likes to do.

She loves picnics at the park. We found a park with swings and ducks. That's really all she needs. It's not your eyes, the pictures are fuzzy. I didn't realize it until I downloaded these pictures. Katie has been using the camera lately.

We went to a birthday party for one of her friends. I was so happy that they were painting. She has been asking to do that for months now, but I have not had the energy to get them out. She painted a cement mixer. It was a Bob the Builder theme. She was also very excited about the hat they got. When I told her that we were going to Andrew's birthday party, she said, "where's my hat?" (meaning birthday hat).

Anna's Blessing

We blessed Anna a few weeks ago. Here she is in her beautiful dress.
