1st Birthday!

April 21st was Katie's 1st Birthday! It's been a fun year watching her grow. This next year looks like it will be quite the workout for me as she becomes more and more independent.
Some of her favorite things right now are:
her frog
Baby Einstein videos
Music and the Spoken Word (Mormon Tabernacle Choir Broadcast on Sunday)
talking to daddy on the phone (even the play phone)
saying hi and bye (and waving)
smiling at everyone
reading books and cards out loud
running all over the house
running away
emptying the cupboards
facing forward in her carseat (yay!)
saying "uh oh"
cheese
rolling a ball back and forth
kicking a ball

We had a small celebration on one of Kimball's nights off. She was going for the cupcakes as soon as I brought them out. Of course, she tasted the frosting first and then had no problems diving right in. We think she was sucking on it because she shoved it on her face and then just held it there for a while. Every once in while she would manage a grin behind the cake.

Here she is while we were trying to get her to open her presents. Not even the tissue paper or wrapping paper could entice her. She wandered all over the house reading this card. Eventually after a lot of persuasion she did open her presents.

1st Easter

Happy Easter! The Easter Bunny brought some fun things.

Katie loves this bunny. She will start laughing mid-cry when we turn it on. She has figured out how to turn it on and carries it around the house. The batteries are just about dead. The bunny sings, dances and hops.

Egg Collecting

Katie's first Easter Egg Hunt (Gather). Of course she was more interested in having something in her hands than putting them in the basket.

Her basket is a frog. She loves it because it sounds like a frog when you push a button. Before Easter, she would start laughing and reach for it anytime she saw it.

Pre-Easter Goodies

Katie has been sick for a couple of weeks. Croup twice with a cold in between for three weeks straight now. She seems to be finally getting better. Since she wasn't feeling so good it was fun to get a package and some other fun things from her doting grandparents.

She finally took a break from her package to at least look at the camera. Her favorite part was actually mine (of course). The Rice Krispie Treats.

She also got a hat. It's still a little big but cute. She practiced taking it off and putting it on and then grabbed the camera case and tried putting it on her shoulder while she walked across the room.
