Here are a few of the field trips we went on this summer.
We had a ward activity to visit some of the houses in our ward with fabulous gardens. At one of the houses she wanted to pick a watermelon. They let her pick a really small one. She took a bite before we got home (yuck). Then we opened it. She was a little confused that there wasn't any red inside. It was mostly just seeds.
We went to visit the Superstition Dairy which is a local dairy near us. It was so fun. They had a small petting zoo where you could brush and feed the animals. She really wanted to but was so scared. There were also chickens running around which scared her even more. She would hold out one little pellet. When the animal went to eat it she would just back and spill some of her food. Then all the chickens would come running to eat the food she dropped. Luckily there was a dog there that she adored and played catch with.
They took us on a hay ride of the dairy.
We also got some fresh ice cream. Yum!
This is our 2nd year going to the Gilbert Fire Station. My friend Amber sets it up for us. There were a lot more kids this time which was fun.
