Her first teeth have broken through! She had all the signs of teething in October (she probably was) but nothing happened. Then Sunday I thought I saw some buds. Monday I put my finger in to check and there they were 2 teeth sticking up. That explains a lot of things that have been happening the past week and a half. I realize this picture doesn't actually show her teeth, but I figured you could use your imagination.

6 Months Old
Katie is 6 months old and here are a few of her favorite things:
- splashing in the tub
- saying "da-da-da"
- giving kisses
- smiling
- visiting people
- sitting up
- standing up
- singing with the choir
- going for walks
- rolling and creeping around the room (backwards)
She has started scooting around the room backwards. So, when we found her in her tunnel (her playmat turns into a tunnel) like this. The only thing we can figure is that she somehow scooted in backwards.
Halloween
It was Katie's first Halloween. She got this Jack-o-Lantern pacci from a friend in the ward. At first she didn't like it because it is a lot bigger than hers. But as you can see she seems to like it now. She likes to play with it in her chair while I am getting her food ready. Here she is in her Halloween costume, playing with the Halloween decoration that Grandma Eastman sent us. Thanks Grandma!

Football Training
It's football season for everyone at our house. Katie is practicing a few new moves daddy taught her.
"Go long, we got to beat the Utes!"
"It is always important to catch the ball with your hands Katie! Do not trap the ball against your body."
"Who is open, who is open...they are coming in fast!"
"Always remember your mouthpiece and secure the ball tight by tucking it under your arm Katie." And remember the key to any BYU victory is 1) do not turn the ball over. 2) Throw it to the tight ends and running backs. 3)find the ball on defense and be physical!

The Wheelbarrow
This is her new way of moving around. We call it "wheelbarrowing". She plants her face into the ground and pushes with straightened legs. It may not seem like it, but she does actually move herself forward and sometimes in a circle. A lot of times we will find her doing this in her bed when she isn't quite tired enough to take a nap. We will hear her start to cry when her head is smashed up against one of the sides of the crib and she can't go anywhere.
